HEALTHY MINDSET EATING HACKS.

Add salads to your foods especially rice, pasta and noodles. If you do that regularly, it will become an habit.

If you always have it in mind that you will fall sick when you don’t eat healthy, that will push you to start eating healthy.

Can’t eat Vegetables? Adopt a mindset that vegetables will make you live longer, you will see yourself start eating it.

When you always put fruits in the fridge or in front of your desk, you will always want to eat it. So start doing that.

Drink at least half cup of water every 30 minutes, and before the day ends you would have drank enough.

Want to start cooking healthy? Add more fresh tomato and pepper than sachet tomato. Instead of sachet spices use ginger, garlic, scent leaves, cinnamon etc.

Feel like using sugar all the time? Think of diabetes type 2 and obesity, you will change your mind and start using less sugar.

Want to stop taking soft drinks and alcohol, then make fruit smoothies, fruit juice and herbal drink at home. Anytime you feel the urge to take soft drinks, just go to your fridge or wherever you kept the smoothies and juices, and drink them instead. Do that always.

PLANT BASED FOODS. WHAT DOES IT MEAN???

WHAT ARE PLANT BASED FOODS?

Some people have been asking me that question for some time now. So here it is👇👇

Plant based foods are foods that are planted on the soil. Those foods are called plant based because they where planted.

EXAMPLES OF PLANT BASED FOODS 👇👇
1. Legumes e.g beans, chickpeas, green peas, lentils etc..

2. Whole grains e.g brown rice, wheat, barley, rye, oats, sorghum etc

3. Fruits and vegetables e.g broccoli, kale, cabbage, apple, oranges, tomato, pawpaw, watermelon etc

4. Root and tubbers e.g yam, potatoes, sweet potatoes, Irish potato, cassava, cocoa yam etc

5. Nuts and seeds e.g sesame seed, flaxseed, fenugreek seeds, chia seeds, walnuts, peanuts, almond nut, cashew nuts, pumpkin seeds, groundnuts, almond seeds etc..

6. Herbs and spices e.g ginger, garlic, tumeric, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginseng, curry leaves, bay leaves, scent leaves etc..

Now you know what plant based foods are, so anytime I talk about plant based foods you will know what I mean.

Animal based foods are the foods that comes from animals like meat, fish, milk, eggs etc while plant based foods are those foods that were planted like the example I gave above.

So don’t confuse both of them. 80% of your diet should be plant based..

2 reasons you are losing weight..

When you are losing too much weight at a time, it can mean 2 things:

1. You are not eating enough energy foods daily compared to what you burn. For example, you may require 2,300 calories a day, but you are eating only 1500 calories, and the work you do is burning more than what you are eating.

2. You have an health challenge. Some health challanges causes weight loss e.g diabetes, hyperthyroidism, cancer, HIV, AIDS and some others. Go for a medical check up to comfirm.

If you know the first one is not the cause of your weight loss, then check the second one.

My experience with neem leaves..

My mom prepared ginger, lemon and neem leaves(dogoyaro) drink yesterday.

If you are familiar with neem leaves, you will be familiar with it’s bitter taste.

When I drank it last night, well I was dancing, that’s how I react anytime I drink it.

Anyways, neem leaves and lemon grass has a lot of health benefits. My mom just said she is feeling strong and his morning and her headache has reduced.

Even me, I know I felt different this morning. I know some people will go and buy it now and take overdose. Moderation on herbs is key..

I will still do a herbs and spices challange just like the fasting challange..

But am still thinking of how to drink this morning portion, maybe I will dance till night.

Consistency: The key to doing everything better..

The first time I started squatting (a type of exercise), I couldn’t walk well with my legs, it was shaking.

I went to fetch water and I nearly fall with the bucket, my mom was asking what was wrong with me.

It took some hours before my legs got back to normal. Do you know why that happened?

It’s because it was my first time doing that. And that was 2 years ago, and now I don’t feel anything when I do it.

There are 2 lessons to learn here:
1. When you start something new, it feels hard and unachievable.
2. When you continuously do that thing over and over again, you will overcome, and it will be very easy to do..

Some ladies will come back and tell me they can’t practice the exercises I told them to practice because it was hard and their body feels weird.

I told them that it’s because it’s the first time, some refuse to continue.

How can you achieve anything with an attitude like that?
People who achieve great things today go through pains and many failures before they go to where they are today.

Whether it is treating an health chalange or doing something else, you need consistency.

Do you still want to eat spicy food?

The last time I had spicy food at night, the next day was terrible for me. I went to the toilet three times that day, my stomach was hurting and my anus was very hot after passing out faeces.

It only stopped after I drank my homemade apple cider vinegar. The third time I went to the toilet it was what we and only small faces came out, that was a sign of diarrhoea underwear makes you dehydrated, and you will lose some nutrients from your body.

Too much spicy food affect your intestine and can even lead to cancer, when you are eating too much of it continuously.

You should do everything in moderation. If you want your foods to be spicy. Add it moderately.

THE IMPORTANCE OF FAMILY HEALTH.

When I started learning about nutrition and healthy eating. I started implementing it on my family first before I brought it online.

They say charity starts at home. I started telling them the good and bad effects of the foods they eat and how often they should eat them.

Overweight and enjoyment.

When you are overweight, you are consuming more calories than you burn.

For example, maybe the activities you do daily only makes use of 1,000 but you are eating 2,000 calories daily.

The remaining 1,000 calories will be stored as fat in your body. And if this continues for many days(cumulative effects) you will find yourself gaining weight.

That is why if you like to get at so much, make sure you are burning them before you eat again the next day.

Your health is important.

An healthy person is neither too slim or fat

Do you have big tommy?

My mom once said that if one day her husband stomach got big like the one in the picture, she will run away 🤣😂

She also said that, if one of her daughters brought a man home who has big Timmy, she will chase him away😂🤣

That big tommy makes them look out of shape and displeased to the eyes.

And apart from physical attraction, having big tommy is also a sign that you are unhealthy and needs help.

Most men think they are enjoying, but the fact is they are dieing slowly.

It mostly affect people who are overweight and obese. And in some people it’s a sign of fatty liver disease.

If you have a big tummy, it’s time to reduce your weight and save yourself. It’s not a time to think that you are enjoying.

A fatty liver disease can lead to liver cancer and death. It’s not a laughing matter.

It’s not a matter of pleasing anyone, it’s a matter of saving your life.

How’s your diet like?

3 days ago, my youngest sister went to her friends place, but when coming back she brought a plate of food that her friend’s brother bought for her.

Guess what was inside?

It was a plate of jollof rice with 3 meats and 1 egg. He even bought a rubber of fanta for her.

And that’s how many eat daily with lots of meats and eggs especially the men.

You can’t expect to eat that kind of diet daily and expect to remain healthy 1-2 years later.

Meats and eggs contain cholesterol, and too much of cholesterol blocks your arteries causing high blood pressure and heart attacks.

Eating them daily will cause it to be too much in your body.

And the worse part is that they eat it on a daily basis. You will see them in restaurants when buying foods, they can even buy 10 meats, but can’t buy 1 fruit.

If you know you are eating that kind of diet, you need to stop if not you won’t be able to face the consequences. Prevention is better than cure.

This is not to criticize you but to make you aware of the dangers of that kind of diet.
